What You'll Learn

Material You'll Practice

  • BLS Skills Integration: Class time reinforces high-quality compressions, ventilation, and AED use, the foundation of ACLS.
  • Airway Management: Airway work, basic plus advanced, including supraglottic airways plus endotracheal intubation awareness.
  • Rhythm Recognition: VF, pulseless VT, asystole, PEA, bradycardia, tachycardia, and peri-arrest rhythms.
  • ACLS Algorithms: Adult cardiac arrest, bradycardia, tachycardia, acute coronary syndromes, and suspected stroke.
  • Pharmacology: Epinephrine, amiodarone, lidocaine, atropine, adenosine, and other ACLS drugs.
  • Team Leadership: Practice closed-loop communication, how roles are assigned, and what a code leader does.

Who Should Attend

Which Jobs Need ACLS

ACLS is a requirement for emergency department staff, ICU and critical care nurses, code team members, paramedics, anesthesia providers, cath lab staff, and many physicians. Typically the BLS card alongside it has to be current. Employers asking for ACLS usually want the provider course at full length. Renewal is shorter and counts while your current card has not expired.

Class Formats

Class Layout

  • ACLS Provider (Initial): New to ACLS: instructor-led, as a full 2-day or a condensed 1-day.
  • ACLS Renewal: Current card-holders use the shorter class.
  • Blended Learning: AHA's cognitive portion is done online at your pace, then class covers hands-on skills and testing.
  • Group Onsite: For clinical teams with six or more, we can deliver the ACLS course at your facility.
