Giving Back Around Wilmington
We've had a place in the Wilmington community for over 10 years. We believe each person who gets CPR training meaningfully lifts cardiac-arrest survival odds for our city. That belief is what drives the outreach. Community centers, non-profit organizations, faith communities, and local schools work with us so people without another route into formal training can learn vital life-saving skills.
Ways We Give Back
- With Schools: Across the Wilmington area, training is open to teachers, coaches, athletic staff and student groups.
- With Non-Profits: Donated or reduced-cost training is open to scouting groups, leagues for youth sports, and volunteer organizations.
- For Faith Communities: Churches, synagogues, and mosques can learn CPR and basic AED skills so they are ready if an emergency hits during a service or event.
- AEDs and Funding: We help groups in the community that need an AED identify grant and funding opportunities.
- Emergency Workshops: Community workshops on what to do during the first few minutes of an emergency.
Why This Training Matters
Outside the hospital, a residence is where most cardiac arrests happen. There, a paramedic is almost never the likeliest person to save someone's life. It's a neighbor, or a family member, or a teacher, or a coach, or a coworker. A class for Heartsaver CPR AED, held at a school or a church or a community center, leaves another person who might be on hand for that moment, able to perform the action that matters.
